Baao, a land of rice and palm trees, is a third class municipality in the 5th (Rinconada) District of Camarines Sur.

The municipality cherishes its rich history of colorful culture and traditions that are relatively distinct from the rest of the Bicol Region. One of the early cradle of Catholicism in Camarines Sur, it continuously maintains deep devotion to its faith; embraces the old and the new alike with certain degree of subtleties. Its culinary has a touch of its own, yet maintains its Bicolano identity.

Classified as fast growing municipality in the region, Baao is in the crossroad of progress as it is cautiously surfing to the changing socio-economic landscape.
